As of Sunday evening we all know who will be in Super Bowl 52 – the Eagles vs. the Patriots (surprise, surprise). Regardless if your team made it to THE big game, why not have a Super Bowl Bash to celebrate the end of the season?! If you’ve followed me for awhile you know I LOVE football and I’m probably the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan in all of the land 🙂 AND y’all can better believe my alter ego JANET, is a super fan!! 😉 If you haven’t seen Janet in action, you should probably check out my Insta Story! She’s a country gem. My boys didn’t make it happen this year BUT that’s ok (I guess 😉 ), I’m going to enjoy the game with friends, shove my face with nom nom food and sip on refreshing drinks…
Do I have some Friday finds for y’all! As I mentioned in my Shabby Chic Bedroom post, furniture can be expensive!! BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t find a deal and get the look you want for less. I LOVE tufted beds – they are so classic and chic. Pictured here is my beauty from my master bedroom. I saved up and purchased my bed from one of my favorite furniture retailers, Restoration Hardware. They can really do no wrong in my book 🙂 All of their furniture is well made and absolutely stunning. I’ve had my eye on this bed FOREVER and my dream finally came true 4 years ago when I bought this beauty…

I announced on my Instagram Story this past Sunday that moving forward, I will be selecting a new theme each week for the blog. This week it’s ALL about BEDROOMS! Today I’m showing y’all a peek at my Shabby-Chic master bedroom. From furniture, bedding and decor, let’s get to it, boos! Make sure to tune into my Insta Story for a room tour.
In my late 20’s I started to nest. At 28 I got married, moved into a new place and was ready to start creating a home for my family. This meant, it was time to save for some key furniture pieces! Although there are great home deals out there, I found out quickly, furniture is expensive! It’s not like buying a pair of shoes… $100 won’t get ya very far when purchasing big ticket furniture items. My advice would be to first come up with a furniture plan – room-by-room, and then start investing in pieces that are classic in design and well-made. When you’re spending moolah on furniture you want it to last for years, amiright?!

I pride myself on being authentic and this is one of the reasons why I’ve decided to share a personal post with you all. Life is not always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes it can be extremely challenging. We all go through moments of sadness, anger, imbalance, fear, loss, etc. Even though I love beautiful things and share many of them on my blog – fashion, make-up, home decor, etc., at the end of the day, it’s not what life is about. I find true fulfillment and happiness looking inward and experiencing life’s moments with my husband, family and close friends.
A few days ago I was sitting on a massage table in Tokyo zen-ing out, reflecting on 2017 and I had an awakening – I needed to share my journey from this past year. When my treatment was finished my therapist said to me, “your energy around your throat is different than anywhere else in your entire body. You need to say/speak up about something.” This solidified what I had already concluded to say the least. Now, I’m sitting in my hotel lobby in Japan writing this post…
I’m getting ready to travel to my last destination of 2017 and first of 2018… JAPAN, here I come!! If you’ve followed me for awhile you know my husband, Luke, and I are quite the travel bugs. This year alone we’ve probably been on 30+ planes, traveling all across the U.S., Mexico and Australia. Why not end it with a BANG – literally ringing in the NEW YEAR in Tokyo! 🙂
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m a professional packer 😉 If you missed my travel post on my What’s in my Carry-on, you should check it out! In this post, I’m sharing my top 5 things I can’t travel without. See below!
